Beyond the Checklist: Unleash Your Wild & Intuitive Self in Midlife

As a midlife coach, I often talk about finding your purpose, uncovering your passions, and shifting focus from the roles you play to your core values. We dig deep into what truly matters to you now, and what kind of life you're yearning to create. But there's a vital, often overlooked piece of the puzzle that I want to explore today: reconnecting with your wild, intuitive self.

For so long, many of us women have lived by checklists. We've mastered the art of "doing": raising families, building careers, managing households, supporting loved ones. We've honed our logical minds, planning, strategizing, and often pushing through, fueled by external expectations. And while there's strength in that, somewhere along the way, many of us lost touch with that quieter, deeper knowing within – our intuition, our untamed spirit.

Midlife, my dear sisters, is the perfect invitation to reclaim this part of ourselves. It's a time

when the external pressures might lessen, or at least shift, creating space for an internal revolution. This isn't about throwing caution to the wind (unless that's what your soul truly craves!). It's about remembering that profound wisdom that lies just beneath the surface of all the "shoulds" and "musts."

What does reclaiming your wild, intuitive self look like?

It's less about grand gestures and more about subtle shifts, tuning into the whispers of your soul:

Trusting your gut feelings: That quiet nudge, that sudden clarity, that feeling in your stomach – it's your intuition speaking. Practice listening to it, even on small decisions.

Embracing spontaneity: Ditch the rigid schedule sometimes. Say yes to an unexpected invitation, follow an impulse to explore a new path, or simply allow yourself to be led by curiosity.

Connecting with nature: Spend time outdoors, truly being in nature. Let the wind clear your mind, let the sun warm your spirit, let the earth ground you. It's a powerful way to tap into your primal self.

Honoring your energy: Learning when to push and when to rest, when to be social and when to seek solitude. Your body and spirit have their own rhythms; listen to them.

Rediscovering forgotten joys: What did you love to do as a child, before the world told you what you "should" be? Dancing, painting, singing, exploring? Reintroduce these playful elements.

Letting go of perfection: The wild self isn't perfect; it's authentic. Allow yourself to be messy, to make mistakes, to simply be.

When you start to honor this intuitive, untamed part of yourself, you unlock a powerful source of clarity and joy. You're not just living from a place of logic; you're living from a place of deep knowing and alignment. This isn't about being irresponsible; it's about being deeply responsible to yourself.

This midlife journey isn't just about finding a new path; it's about remembering the incredible, wise, and vibrant woman you've always been, beneath the layers of expectation. So, I invite you: What small step can you take this week to reconnect with your wild, intuitive self?

All my love
